Beyond Sight
Beyond Sight
Clay became a channel for sound and touch. A looping audio track of cicadas and bicycles on gravel played through a small speaker embedded within the base of each sculpture. The forms amplified and redirected sound through funnel-like elements and resonant cavities, inviting viewers to experience clay beyond vision alone. The work explored memory through physical sensation, challenging assumptions of clay as heavy, dense, or opaque, and instead revealing it as porous, responsive, and quietly immersive.
